Health and Care Worker (United Kingdom) – Requirements

A Skilled Worker sub-route for qualified doctors, nurses, health professionals and adult-social-care professionals working for an approved NHS, NHS supplier or adult-social-care employer. Minimum salary £25,000/yr for national-pay-scale roles (e.g. NHS Agenda for Change) or £31,300 for non-pay-scale roles, plus the occupation's going rate, whichever is higher. Exempt from the Immigration Health Surcharge. English at CEFR B1. Overseas recruitment for care workers (SOC 6135) and senior care workers (SOC 6136) was closed on 22 July 2025; in-country switching for existing holders remains. ILR after 5 years.
